Ricky Stuart has won the Dally M Coach of the Year award after a stellar season at the helm for the Raiders.<\/p>\n
Stuart steered a side many tipped to win the wooden spoon to minor premiership glory, however his side bowed out of the finals in straight sets.<\/p>\n
It was the Raiders\u2019 first minor premiership win since way back in 1990.<\/p>\n

Everybody is on the journey with a coach and it\u2019s hard to do it without them,\u201d Stuart said.<\/p>\n \u201cI always say, you can\u2019t be a good coach without good players and I\u2019ve got the best team in the competition.<\/p>\n \u201cPersonally I believe we should still be in the competition but I\u2019m biased. I\u2019m disappointed we\u2019re not but it\u2019ll give us fight and that\u2019s what we have to do.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t see this as an award for me. It\u2019s an award for my team, family and my whole club. \u201cThey give me the opportunity of being here.\u201d<\/p>\n Stuart was asked by host Braith Anasta what had changed in the NRL since he started coaching way back in 2002.<\/p>\n \u201cPretty boys like you commentating,\u201d Stuart said, lightheartedly to Anasta. <\/p>\n \u201cPretty boys like Ethan Strange I\u2019m coaching.
