Noah Kahan<\/a> is the latest artist to call out the White House for using his music without permission.<\/p>\n

The White House used Kahan\u2019s song \u201cAmerican Cars\u201d in a Monday Instagram post that featured pictures of President Donald Trump visiting General Motors\u2019 flagship test site<\/a> in Michigan.<\/p>\n

After the singer, 29, was summoned to the comments<\/a> by his fans, Kahan wrote on the post Tuesday: \u201cWould never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of Wednesday morning, the post was still set to Kahan\u2019s song. The Independent has reached out to the White House for comment.<\/p>\n

The \u201cStick Season\u201d singer joins a long list of musicians who have pushed back against the Trump administration\u2019s use of their songs, including Beyonc\u00e9, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruce Springsteen, ABBA and Celine Dion.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Katy Perry spoke out against her 2010 hit \u201cFirework\u201d <\/a>being used in the White House\u2019s post on TikTok that featured footage of military strikes amid the war in Iran.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply appalled and angry to see \u2018Firework\u2019 used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes,\u201d Perry said in a post on X shared July 25. \u201cI did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

Last month, Grande criticized the White House for using her song \u201cBye\u201d <\/a>in a social media post showing clips of U.S. immigration arrests.<\/p>\n

Grande wrote in the comments of the post: \u201cPlease do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. fck ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November 2025, Olivia Rodrigo spoke out against the Department of Homeland Security and the White House after the agencies used her song \u201cAll-American Bitch\u201d in a video telling undocumented immigrants to \u201cself-deport.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

The next month, Sabrina Carpenter called out the White House<\/a> for using her song \u201cJuno\u201d in a video that made light of people being arrested by ICE agents, which she described as \u201cevil and disgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n
