Season 18 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres this summer, and we’ve got our first look at all the shenanigans the worst people in the City of Brotherly Love are getting up to this year. Fans can look forward to a wedding (and maybe a funeral), ventriloquism, the return of the repellent McPoyles (including Guillermo del Toro‘s Pappy McPoyle) and much, much more.

Last season, the series invaded another Philly-set show in a two-episode crossover with Abbott Elementary; the gang had to volunteer at the school to atone for their latest misdeeds, while we also saw Abbott’s faculty take a cursed bar crawl through Paddy’s Pub. The rest of the season also saw the long-awaited return of the Gang’s enemy, the Lawyer (Brian Unger), two episode-long cruel pranks, and the revelation that the show’s been on so long, two underage drinkers from an episode of the first season tried to stop their own son from drinking at Paddy’s. It ended on a faux season finale of The Golden Bachelor, with Frank (Danny DeVito) handing his rose to the lovelorn Sam (Carol Kane, who starred alongside DeVito on Taxi).

As we see in the trailer, the season will open with the fallout of the finale, with Frank preparing for his nuptials with Sam. However, given that the season premiere is titled “Frank Marries a Corpse,” it doesn’t look like everything’s going to go as planned. The trailer also showcases the Gang disrupting a Renaissance Faire (with guest star Nick Kroll), going back to school and maybe committing some human trafficking, suiting up for a baseball game (where Charlie learns that you’re supposed to eat the sunflower seeds and spit out the shells, instead of the other way around), and chasing a sales rep for a non-alcoholic beer out of the bar. It all kicks off on August 17, when It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia opens its 18th season with a two-episode premiere on FX and Hulu.

Collider Exclusive · TV Medicine Quiz
Which Fictional Hospital Would You Work Best In?
The Pitt · ER · Grey’s Anatomy · House · Scrubs

        Five hospitals.
