When the movie arrived this year, some of the IMAX 70mm theaters experienced such high demand they introduced 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. showings.<\/a><\/p>\n Big Number<\/p>\n $700 million. The movie appears on pace to become Nolan\u2019s highest grossing movie ever, but it would need to beat \u201cOppenheimer\u201d ($975 million), \u201cThe Dark Knight\u201d ($1 billion) and \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises\u201d ($1.08 billion) to do so. Nolan, who has championed the IMAX format throughout his career, experienced similar success with \u201cOppenheimer\u201d in premium formats in 2024, when IMAX extended the biographical thriller\u2019s 70mm showings twice.
