Law & Order <\/a>alum Camryn Manheim has surprised fans by recently debuting her weight-loss transformation.<\/p>\n

Last week, Manheim, 65 \u2014 best known for her Emmy-winning role as attorney Ellenor Frutt on ABC\u2019s celebrated Nineties legal drama, The Practice \u2014 stepped out for the opening night of Rosie O\u2019Donnell\u2019s off-Broadway autobiographical show, Rosie O\u2019Donnell: Common Knowledge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In glasses, blue jeans, a purple-patterned top and a statement necklace, Manheim looked drastically different from her early career days when posing for photos. <\/p>\n

The actor\u2019s slimmed-down figure <\/a>has not been lost on fans, as several expressed amazement over her new look.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsually when they say someone is \u2018unrecognizable,\u2019 they\u2019re instantly recognizable to me. Lol but not this one!\u201d one person responded on X to an article about Manheim\u2019s dramatic transformation. \u201cCamryn has always been so beautiful, but she looks like a totally different person now!\u201d<\/p>\n

Manheim, who starred as Lieutenant Kate Dixon on the flagship Law & Order <\/a>for three seasons, from 2022 to 2024, has long been open about her personal struggles with her weight. <\/p>\n

In 1994, she created and starred in her one-woman off-Broadway show, Wake Up, I\u2019m Fat!, which featured funny and poignant stories about navigating life in a society obsessed with thinness. She later adapted the show into her best-selling memoir of the same name, published in 1999.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlmost everything I do is related to being fat,\u201d Manheim told Ability Magazine\u2019s<\/a> disability advocate Chet Cooper in the late Nineties. \u201cSo on one hand, I can say that being fat is the thing I hate most about myself, but on the other hand, I know that it defines me and is an important part of who I am, and I really like who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

After accepting her first Emmy in 1998 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, the Ghost Whisperer <\/a>star dedicated the win to \u201call the fat girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always felt like a misfit,\u201d Manheim said, \u201cand to get this award from my peers is such a huge victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her bold declaration years later in a 2019 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said: \u201cI\u2019ve made my mark by being vocal. I just play roles that have nothing to do with my size, but with my power and spirit. It\u2019s who I am at the core of my being.
