Mum approved, but I wasn\u2019t impressed with the lack of seasoning or savoury grunt in the mince. The piping hot contents were also a bit too liquidy, meaning Rollers\u2019 mince and cheese failed the crucial eat-it-while-you drive test. <\/p>\n
So, I went back the next day with my mate Tony in search of a Foxy.<\/p>\n

Reader, on day two I got my pie. Tony and I took the baker\u2019s advice and got there before 10am; even then it was a close call, with another queue out the door \u2013 we got two of the last 10 for the day. Soon enough punters were filing out with pies that weren\u2019t Foxys.<\/p>\n
And there\u2019s worse luck for vegos and vegans: on the day we got our Foxys, the business had streamlined production, taking distractions off the menu to focus on the meaty treats.<\/p>\n
So, is it worth the hype? Yep, the beef and bacon jam are in balance; with the sweetness of the jam negating the need for any tommy-T. And there\u2019s more depth to the red meat flavour than I\u2019d found in the mince and cheese the day before. <\/p>\n
A pie-traditionalist might have expected more cheese in there, but I thought all the ingredients worked nicely in sync. <\/p>\n
The pastry is perfectly done; it\u2019s nicely browned, holds its shape and avoids sogginess. <\/p>\n
