Bruce Springsteen Shares Wife Patti Scialfa Is in Remission After Blood Cancer Diagnosis<\/p>\n
Bruce Springsteen<\/a> and Patti Scialfa are hopeful amid her remission from cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n The “Born in the USA” singer shared an update that Scialfa\u2014his wife of 35 years and guitarist in the E Street Band\u2014is now in remission after battling blood cancer since 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n “As you know, Patti\u2019s been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years,” Springsteen noted in a pre-tape played at the 47th annual PMC fundraiser Aug. 1, as captured by fan footage<\/a>. “Now, thankfully, she is in remission.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n Scialfa, 73, publicly disclosed her experience<\/a> with the blood disease (in which cancerous plasma cells impact the blood marrow, per the Mayo Clinic<\/a>) through their 2024 documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.<\/p>\n And now that she\u2019s in remission, Springsteen, 76, expressed gratitude for the healthcare heroes who were at the Aug. 1 charity event, which benefited the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.<\/p>\n “Like millions of families facing cancer, we\u2019ve learned what every patient learns. Hope has a face,” Springsteen said. “It\u2019s our physician who refuses to stop searching and caring.
