A used Sony FX3 in “Like New” condition is currently listed on Amazon for $3,421, creating a notable alternative for filmmakers who still want to get into Sony’s compact Cinema Line system without paying the current new-unit price.

According to the current Amazon listing, the Sony FX3 is shown with a Used Like New option priced at $3,421. The listing also shows the new unit price at $4,298, which means the used option is almost $900 lower than buying the camera new. That is a significant gap, especially considering that the FX3 remains one of Sony’s most popular compact Cinema Line cameras. It features a full-frame sensor, strong low-light performance, 4K recording up to 120 fps, internal cooling, Sony’s reliable autofocus system, and a body design that has become widely used by solo operators, documentary shooters, gimbal users, and independent filmmakers.

Worth noting: The $3,421 price may not appear as the default buying option. Amazon can still show the new FX3 at $4,298, so users interested in the lower price should manually check the Used Like New buying option.

It is important to clarify that this does not appear to be a drop in the new price of the FX3. The Buy New option is still listed at $4,298. The lower $3,421 price refers specifically to a Used Like New unit – and this is even after the launch of the successor FX5. Therefore, this is not a new retail price cut. Rather, it is a used-market opportunity for buyers who are comfortable purchasing a non-new unit from Amazon.

The timing is interesting, as the newer FX3A SKU is also listed around the $4,298 price point. For filmmakers who do not need a factory-sealed FX3A, the used FX3 listing may offer a more affordable way to access almost the same core Cinema Line imaging platform. The FX3 is not a new camera anymore, but it is still a very capable tool. At $3,421 Used Like New, it becomes much more attractive compared to the current new-unit pricing.

For filmmakers who were waiting for a better FX3 deal, this may be worth checking. The new FX3 and FX3A prices remain high, but the Used Like New FX3 at $3,421 creates a meaningful price gap. In short: the new FX3 is still expensive, but the used market is starting to look much more interesting.
