Bread brand B\u00fcrgen has announced it is leaving the New Zealand market, farewelling Kiwi customers after years on supermarket shelves.<\/p>\n
“For years, B\u00fcrgen has been part of Kiwi breakfasts, lunchboxes and everything in between. Now it\u2019s time for us to say goodbye,” the bread brand said in a post to Facebook on Sunday.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re pretty gutted to be leaving, but mostly, we just want to say a huge thank you for having us at your table all these years.”<\/p>\n
The brand, owned by Australian manufacturer George Weston Foods, thanked customers for “sharing it with your wh\u0101nau and making us part of everyday life”.<\/p>\n
George Weston Foods told 1News the product was no longer being produced and that sales had declined in recent years.<\/p>\n
“Several of our retail partners have advised that they will be removing the product range due to lower shopper demand and increasing pressure on shelf space.”<\/p>\n
