RICHMOND, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE<\/a>)–McKesson Medical-Surgical announced it is becoming Wellverse as part of a planned separation to operate as an independent company. The new name and brand reflect the organization\u2019s purpose, the needs of the customers it serves and its vision for the future.<\/p>\n

\nWellverse brings the many things healthcare needs into one clear, easy-to-navigate world. Built around wellness, genuine relationships, and proven capabilities, Wellverse gives providers and the people who support them the space to do their most important work. The company anticipates to begin formally using the new name in January 2027 as part of a gradual transition across communications, systems, and customer touchpoints.<\/p>\n

\nWellverse builds on McKesson Medical-Surgical\u2019s longstanding reputation as a trusted distributor to healthcare providers across care settings, including physician offices, health systems, laboratories, and home health. The organization will continue to offer a broad portfolio of medical products, distribution services, inventory and business management tools, and personalized support designed to help customers navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHealthcare providers are managing multiple vendors, operational challenges, and growing demands on their time,\u201d McComb added. \u201cWith Wellverse, we aim to lighten that load by bringing the things they need into one place, so they can focus on what matters most \u2013 caring for patients and strengthening the health of their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nCustomers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders will receive additional updates as the rollout progresses. The name transition will not result in any changes to day\u2011to\u2011day operations, service levels, or customer relationships.<\/p>\n

\nMcKesson previously announced its intent to separate the Medical-Surgical Solutions segment into an independent company as part of a broader portfolio strategy designed to enhance strategic focus and unlock value for both organizations. The planned separation is expected to allow each company to pursue distinct growth priorities and deliver greater value to customers, suppliers, patients, and shareholders. Until the separation is complete, McKesson Medical-Surgical will continue to operate as part of McKesson Corporation. The company\u2019s initial public offering (IPO) is expected to occur in the second half of calendar year 2027, pending market conditions and regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n
