\u201cIt may be a little bit of settling down for some areas. The system is charged up but you still have the odd airlock.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome families might be having problems with their sewage systems. So that\u2019s why we\u2019re following up how people are reacting to the water coming on with their systems not being able to flush loos.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere might be some residue issues there but, apart from that, I think it\u2019s good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Businesses were reopening, and classes at Ruapehu College and Ohakune Primary School have resumed.<\/p>\n

A Ruapehu Holiday Park spokesperson told the Chronicle its water was back on.<\/p>\n

Water bottle supplies at six locations would not be replenished once exhausted, the council said.<\/p>\n

However, water would still be available from a tanker and in bottles from the council office at 38 Ayr St.<\/p>\n

If residents\u2019 water does not return, or they notice a problem with the public water network, they can contact Ruapehu District Council on 07 895 8188.<\/p>\n
