Surveillance for dengue, chikungunya, Zika, and West Nile virus infections is based on mandatory reporting. During the active season of the *Aedes albopictus* vector mosquito (tiger mosquito) in mainland France\u2014from May 1 to November 30\u2014this is supplemented by a seasonal enhanced surveillance system<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sant\u00e9 publique France reports as of August 10, 2026, five episodes of autochthonous vector-borne transmission have been identified in mainland France:<\/p>\n

\u2022 3 chikungunya episodes totaling 15 cases (1 to 8 cases per episode) in the Tarn (Occitanie) and Gironde (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) departments.<\/p>\n

\u2022 2 dengue episodes (1 case per episode) in the Tarn and H\u00e9rault departments (Occitanie).<\/p>\n

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) and the increased risk of sexually transmitted infection (STI) coinfections<\/a><\/p>\n

Investigations and prevention and control measures are underway for these various events.<\/p>\n

From May 1\u2014the start of enhanced surveillance\u2014through August 9, 2026, the following were identified:<\/p>\n

\u2022 105 imported cases of chikungunya<\/p>\n

\u2022 295 imported cases of dengue<\/p>\n

\u2022 10 imported cases of Zika<\/p>\n

Concerning West Nile virus, as of August 10, 2026, six autochthonous cases of West Nile virus infection have been identified in mainland France. These cases are located in the Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur region (Bouches-du-Rh\u00f4ne and Vaucluse departments) and the Occitanie region (Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales and Aude departments).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Surveillance for dengue, chikungunya, Zika, and West Nile virus infections is based on mandatory reporting.
