Humana<\/a>\u00a0said on Thursday it has about 20% of its members currently enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans rated 4 stars and above for 2026, based on preliminary data.<\/p>\nShares of the health insurer were up 3% in midday trading.<\/p>\n
The preliminary star ratings data was inadvertently accessible on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Plan Finder for a period of time on Wednesday, Humana said in a regulatory filing.<\/p>\n
CMS, a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the timing of the release of ratings.<\/p>\n
The agency issues star ratings for Medicare Advantage plans, which cover Americans aged 65 years or older, from one to five, with five being the highest-performing, to help beneficiaries choose among them.<\/p>\n
Humana\u00a0said it has about 1.2 million, or 20%, of its members currently enrolled in high-rated Medicare Advantage plans for 2026, with an average star rating of 3.61, consistent with its 2025 average star rating.<\/p>\n
