Image: InSyde Media<\/p>\n<p>The 2016 Bathurst 1000 winner has been named in a 22 car Super2 field for Mount Panorama, set to drive for returning team Masterton Motorsport.<\/p>\n<p>James Masterton campaigned the ex-Tickford Racing Mustang during the 2023 Super2 season but has been absent since last year\u2019s opener.<\/p>\n<p>The car will sport Webb\u2019s traditional #19 for the event and carry backing from Nulon.<\/p>\n<p>Webb\u2019s return continues a series of Bathurst cameos for the Gold Coast-based former Supercars team owner in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Last year he tackled the Super2 races aboard Eggleston Motorsport\u2019s #88 Holden Commodore in place of Cooper Murray.<\/p>\n<p>That followed a one-off return to the Great Race with PremiAir Racing in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Webb, now 41, contested 17 Bathurst 1000s between 2006 and 2023, winning for his own Tekno Autosports operation alongside Will Davison in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Tekno became PremiAir in 2022 following a buyout from drag racing champion Peter Xiberras.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-926876\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Jonathon_Webb_Eseries-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Jonathon Webb.<\/p>\n<p>Webb\u2019s entry is one of three changes to the Super2 field for Bathurst.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-super2-series-mason-kelly-crash-ipswich-bathurst-adelaide-comments\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawNK3Q5leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETE0VXdJMVpaYzVHZ1N6VlRMAR7AEP8Xs2oR2Z9SNePtItDXQwgMc1P5koNxxKvsFyP-2CfsS_B5NQ5Mh8ADEw_aem__TBekU-2PKLSP9jMG_Qy7Q\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mason Kelly is sitting out the remainder of the season<\/a> following a heavy crash at the last round at Queensland Raceway.<\/p>\n<p>Eggleston\u2019s Elliot Cleary meanwhile remains out of action due to the broken hand that prevented him from starting either of the Ipswich Super2 encounters.<\/p>\n<p>Tickford Racing enters the fifth and penultimate round of the campaign with its four drivers leading the way in the standings.<\/p>\n<p>Rylan Gray leads on 1011 points from Nash Morris (894), Lochie Dalton (873) and Reuben Goodall (828), with Triple Eight\u2019s Jackson Walls (816) best of the rest in fifth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2025-bathurst-1000-tickford-racing-super2-nash-morris-mustang-gen2\/#:~:text=Tickford%20Racing%20will%20debut%20what,at%20Mount%20Panorama%20next%20week.&amp;text=Nash%20Morris%20has%20been%20thrown,of%20the%20trip%20to%20Bathurst.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Morris will debut a new Gen2 Mustang at Mount Panorama<\/a>, while Triple Eight has <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-triple-eight-holden-commodore-super2-gen2-ben-gomersall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">delayed the rollout of a fresh car for Ben Gomersall until 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Masterton Mustang at Bathurst in 2024.
