Kristen \u2013 who dated Robert for four years after meeting him on the set of the first film in 2008 \u2013 admitted it took some time after the films ended to appreciate them for what they were.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really funny \u2018cause it was like we did five of those movies, and it took five years \u2014 and then we\u2019ve never stopped talking about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the time in which they were coming out, we were always being asked to look at it from the outside \u2013 which was not possible to do yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her comments about the serious nature of the performances echo similar remarks made by Robert in April.<\/p>\n
He told Vogue: \u201cI really love that movie. I think I would have done it exactly the same \u2013 to be honest, I don\u2019t even think I\u2019d be able to do the performance now.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody was approaching it so earnestly and took it really, really, really seriously.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was no kind of tongue-in-cheek element. No one\u2019s winking at the audience. It\u2019s like it\u2019s very real, which is strange for a movie about a vampire romance.\u201d<\/p>\n
