Photo \/ New Zealand Police<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Miller said police carried out 460 compulsory breath tests, with six drivers charged with drink-driving offences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Seven drivers were charged with driving while forbidden, suspended or disqualified. Officers also issued 24 speeding infringement notices and another 41 infringement notices for other offences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Five vehicles were impounded and one driver was summoned for sustained loss of traction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Miller said checkpoints were set up for the safety of all road users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThe best way to approach a checkpoint is driving legally and sober.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The second driver was 15 and has been referred to Youth Aid.
