The colorful pool of water, about 10 meters across, is known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/features\/yell\/tours\/fountainpaint\/silexspring.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Silex Spring<\/a> and is located in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yellowstone.co\/pdfs\/ytsummer2011.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yellowstone National Park<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wyoming\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wyoming<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_states_and_territories_of_the_United_States\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">USA<\/a>. Illuminated artificially, the colors are caused by layers of <a href=\"https:\/\/oceanservice.noaa.gov\/facts\/extremophile.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bacteria<\/a> that grow in the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZcydY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hot spring<\/a>. Steam rises off <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9jQNg_q-KzY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the spring<\/a>, heated by underground <a href=\"https:\/\/astrobiology.nasa.gov\/news\/the-magma-ocean-and-us\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">magma<\/a> associated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yellowstone_hotspot\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yellowstone Hotspot<\/a>. Unrelated and far in the distance, the <a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap110710.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">central band<\/a> of our <a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/resource\/the-milky-way-galaxy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Milky Way Galaxy<\/a> arches high overhead, a band lit by billions of stars. The picture features a 16-image panorama taken in 2014.
