Broncos<\/a> great Corey Parker<\/a> says the performances of some of Brisbane\u2019s players against the Warriors<\/a> on Saturday night were so bad they would be \u201cembarrassed\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 347-game former Broncos workhorse also questioned the \u201cpersonal pride\u201d of some players, a day after rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns<\/a> had described the team\u2019s effort as \u201cabsolutely disgusting\u201d and declared \u201cthey don\u2019t care less\u201d.<\/p>\n

In going down to the Warriors 40-6 at Suncorp Stadium<\/a>, the Broncos became the first reigning premier in Australian first-grade rugby league to lose as many as 15 games.<\/p>\n

The Broncos are languishing in 16th on the ladder with three games remaining, behind teams like the Eels, Tigers and Titans.<\/p>\n

Yet the Red Hill wreckage could get even worse.<\/p>\n

Although it is unlikely, it is possible the Dragons could climb off the bottom rung of the ladder and the Broncos could finish with the wooden spoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cMadge was clearly unhappy, and he\u2019s defended the team pretty much week in, week out, [saying], \u2018They\u2019re working hard\u2019,\u201d Parker said on his SEN radio show on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were some individuals the other night [who would] be pretty embarrassed with their performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not gonna get any better.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou go through who\u2019s going out to play every week, some of the players will not be there next year, OK? … Why do they care what goes on? They\u2019re moving on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of the players who lined up against the Warriors, three won\u2019t be at the Broncos in 2027: the Rabbitohs-bound Payne Haas<\/a>, Warriors-bound Grant Anderson and Perth Bears recruit Gehamat Shibasaki.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo they care enough in their own personal pride and performance?\u201d Parker added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, you\u2019d have to say you\u2019d like to think so, but the evidence that we\u2019re seeing at the minute, that\u2019s hardly evidence I\u2019m seeing that you\u2019ve got a huge amount of pride.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking on Nine\u2019s The Sunday Footy Show, Johns roasted the Broncos over the try scored by Warriors playmaker Chanel Harris-Tavita.<\/p>\n

In only the 14th minute, the five-eighth received the ball on the left edge, cut back inside, and sliced through the Brisbane defence like it was a game of touch footy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve gotta say, the Chanel Harris-Tavita try was absolutely disgusting. The way they didn\u2019t tie in on the inside, it was horrible,\u201d Johns said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat showed that they don\u2019t care. They don\u2019t care less … They don\u2019t care if they win or lose at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey won the comp last year!\u201d<\/p>\n

Haas dropped a bombshell on the eve of the season<\/a> when he signed a three-year deal with South Sydney, beginning in 2027.<\/p>\n

The Broncos\u2019 end-of-season review, Johns says, must zero in on that monumental Haas decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you what they do with a review? Someone sit down with Payne and say, \u2018Payne, why are you leaving?\u2019 And there\u2019ll be your answer,\u201d Johns said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got a once-in-a-lifetime player, we\u2019re talking about a player who maybe will be the greatest front-rower ever, and he\u2019s playing for you, and he leaves.
