A2 Milk has seen its full year net profit drop 44 percent in line with its expectations, with sale and purchase of large-scale processing facilities.<\/p>\n
Chief executive David Bortolussi said the bottom line profit reflects the pluses and minuses associated with the sale of its Matara Valley business early in the financial year ended in June, which resulted in a net loss of $96 million, and the purchase of the a2 P\u014dkeno, which was expected to become profitable this financial year.<\/p>\n
“So I appreciate it’s a complicated result to explain this year, but the underlying fundamentals and underlying results of the business are still very strong,” he said.<\/p>\n
The speciality milk company made a net profit of $113.6m in the June year, though underlying profit was up nearly 5-and-a-half percent percent to more than $300m, excluding the one-time costs and losses.<\/p>\n
It was also paying a full year dividend of 21 cents a share, which was also up 5 percent up on last year.<\/p>\n
