They captured absolutely everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Panettiere said she had no intention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/entertainment\/hayden-panettiere-death-actors-final-message-and-instagram-post\/ZUG4BHA4SFBZ7IJ74M7GUW2HWU\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/entertainment\/hayden-panettiere-death-actors-final-message-and-instagram-post\/ZUG4BHA4SFBZ7IJ74M7GUW2HWU\/\">speaking about postpartum depression<\/a> when she did so on Live with Kelly and Michael. <\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cIt just came up naturally. I was simply being honest, and it never occurred to me that anyone would react negatively. It was my truth,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cSo when I got the call that Neutrogena wanted to fire me because of it, my representative at the time said, \u2018That\u2019s illegal. They can\u2019t do that\u2019. Even though she saved the day that year, I knew it was over. I knew I wouldn\u2019t be invited back the following year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cOf all the things I thought could get me fired, this was the last thing I ever expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Beginning in her fresh-faced twenties, Hayden Panettiere was the face of Neutrogena for 10 years. The end began when she spoke on a talk show about her struggle with postpartum depression. \u201cMorality clauses\u201d entered the picture &amp; she was soon DUMPED. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fmMGcetH0Y\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/fmMGcetH0Y<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marla Hohner (@marlahohner) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/marlahohner\/status\/2089361549253025824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">August 17, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">She said what stung most was the aftermath, when no one at the brand checked if she was okay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cI remember not hearing a word from anybody, not a \u2018great working with you for 10 years\u2019&#8230; I remember that really breaking my heart,\u201d she told the podcast host.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">Panettiere said she \u201cwouldn\u2019t change it for the world\u201d and \u201cwouldn\u2019t take it back\u201d but was surprised by how the skincare brand handled the situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">The clip resurfaced after news of the sudden death of the actor and singer, and prompted criticism of Neutrogena on social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">On Reddit, users questioned Neutrogena for claiming it stands for women but then allegedly trying to drop the actor over an issue that impacts women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bcxzNmxesLZ\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cOoh this makes me so angry. God forbid a woman talk openly about a serious issue that affects millions. Poor Hayden.
