Tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have bought an Irish castle and are \u201cexcited\u201d about the historic home, according to a spokesman for the businessman.<\/p>\n

Meta\u2019s founder and chief executive bought the three-storey Strancally Castle from the Alen-Buckley family in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cMark and his
\n family are excited to continue caring for this historic home and look forward to spending time in Ireland, where Meta maintains its international headquarters,\u201d the spokesman said.\n <\/p>\n

Built in 1827 for an English politician, the cut-stone Gothic Revival house is in County Waterford, about 150km southwest of Dublin.<\/p>\n
