Police have launched a homicide investigation, named Operation Falconer, and are seeking witnesses to the initial confrontation on Holbrook St or near the bus stop on Blockhouse Bay Rd.<\/p>\n

Scene examinations have been carried out at two locations, including where the man was located by ambulance staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m asking anyone who was in the area at the time and has information, to come forward,\u201d Bolton said in a statement today.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have dashcam footage, CCTV footage or saw anything \u2013 we need to hear from you.\u201d<\/p>\n

An interim non-publication order prevents the man\u2019s name and identifying details from being reported. Police said they had been liaising with his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in a sensitive phase of our investigation, and we haven\u2019t taken this step lightly, but the community can be reassured that we are working to identify those present and responsible,\u201d Bolton said.<\/p>\n

Police are urging anyone with information or relevant footage to call 105 using the reference number 260822\/3796.<\/p>\n
