After one South African user hit a hadeda, du Plessis wrote: \u201cAbsolutely no regard for safety, [a] verified Saffa!\u201d<\/p>\n

The game already appears to have taken over workplace and WhatsApp chats, with du Plessis commenting: \u201cThere are going to be some timesheet gymnastics if I look at the analytics for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

PLAY THE GAME HERE<\/a><\/p>\n

As the Herald reported yesterday<\/a>, the airline at the centre of the spectacular flyover before Sunday\u2019s rugby test in Cape Town has offered flight data from its two jets\u2019 \u201cblack boxes\u201d to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).<\/p>\n

The flyover, in which the lead Embraer jet is estimated to have come within 50ft (15.2m) of the DHL Stadium roof in Cape Town, shocked many of the 56,500 fans at the ground \u2013 and plenty of the millions who saw it on TV and social media.<\/p>\n

The second jet appeared to be almost as low and was struck by pyrotechnics as it flew over.<\/p>\n

The flyover has led to a polarised debate about the safety margins involved and whether they were breached.<\/p>\n

\"OneOne of the two Airlink aircraft involved in the flyover in Cape Town was struck by pyrotechnics.<\/p>\n

The airline, Airlink, has insisted that the flyover met safety standards and protocols agreed earlier with South African aviation officials.<\/p>\n

But in an updated statement yesterday, Airlink said it had now voluntarily offered flight data to the SACAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cAirlink, on its own initiative, has volunteered these data sets to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) so it can independently review and verify that the flypast was in accordance with the flight authorisation,\u201d according to a statement issued by spokesman Linden Birns.<\/p>\n

The jets\u2019 \u201cblack boxes\u201d will have recorded critical data such as speed and altitude.<\/p>\n

Birns told South African news website IOL that the airline would not comment further at this stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile Airlink appreciates the interest and concern, it will refrain from making any further comments while the SACAA reviews the flight data.\u201d<\/p>\n

A SACAA spokesman told the NZ Herald that a media statement would be issued in \u201cdue course\u201d and once \u201call processes are complete\u201d. <\/p>\n

Some observers have praised the pilots\u2019 skills, calling it a classic example of precision flying, while others believe they were a hair\u2019s breadth away from an unfathomable disaster.<\/a><\/p>\n
