Powerball went unstruck on Saturday, causing it to jackpot from $23m to $25m for the first play of September.<\/p>\n

There have been at least 11 Powerball millionaires crowned this year, with the biggest jackpot \u2013 a whopping $40m \u2013 split between two Aucklanders.<\/p>\n

Each winner took home $20.1m, having both nabbed $111,111 in Lotto First Division.<\/p>\n

If struck by one lucky player, tonight\u2019s earnings would fall shy of the $28.6m scooped by an Ashburton family<\/a> in June.<\/p>\n

That draw was won after 11 consecutive rollovers, with the family buying their ticket from Four Square Netherby.<\/p>\n

Other major wins unfolded in April, with a New Plymouth player bagging $14.3m on a ticket purchased via MyLotto<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One week later, a North Shore punter pocketed a $5.5m prize<\/a> after purchasing a ticket from Whitcoulls Glenfield.<\/p>\n

If struck, tonight\u2019s Powerball draw may well be the last major win of its kind, as Lotto prepares to overhaul and refresh the big-ticket lottery game<\/a> next Sunday.<\/p>\n

From September 13, changes to the game include increasing the number of Powerballs from 10 to 14; introducing a Powerball division eight; increasing the minimum jackpot from $4m to $5m; and increasing the maximum jackpot threshold from $50m to $60m.<\/p>\n

What to do if you win<\/p>\n

Ticket holders can see immediately if they have won<\/a> if they purchased a ticket through My Lotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the buyer\u2019s account.<\/p>\n

For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.<\/p>\n

Winners with physical tickets must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.<\/p>\n
