\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to me that at this point in my life I\u2019ve got this opportunity, in a positive way, to reinvent what the last act of my life is now from the ground up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe kind of person that I would want to be with, if I ever wanted to get into another relationship, the kind of work I want to do, and who I want to be around socially, spiritually and emotionally.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got time to discover what inspires me creatively, so it\u2019s been an amazing and lucky thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor most parents, we focus on our kids and it\u2019s so divine and magical and so absorbing, but now I have some time where the kids aren\u2019t with me, so I get some time to think about what the future might hold for me. Which is exciting and also scary. Everything is scary.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 49-year-old actor has found the best way for her to get over her heartbreak over the end of her marriage is to \u201ckeep moving\u201d and agree to anything that comes her way.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cThis is totally personal and I say this with the caveat as it worked for me, but the concept of processing stuff and taking your time, thinking about it again and again, you don\u2019t really feel better that way. I didn\u2019t. Instead, it\u2019s like if you\u2019re riding a bike and you stop pedalling, you\u2019re just going to fall over. For me, it\u2019s been about keeping motion going and keeping moving.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I was feeling sad at any point in my life, or just depressed and I just wanted to pull the covers over my head, I just started saying \u2018Yes\u2019 to everything. Whether it\u2019s a dinner that I don\u2019t really want to go to, whether it\u2019s some new school mums having a barbecue, volunteering at the local fete.\u201d<\/p>\n
And being \u201ccommunity minded\u201d has been particularly helpful.<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cBeing of service and continuing to say yes has really helped, accepting any invitation. I also basically just said yes to any job I got offered.
