In Gasly’s place, Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar has been awarded the final place on the podium, as his maiden top three finish since moving up from sister side Racing Bulls at the start of the year.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri is also upgraded from fifth to fourth, after he served an in-race penalty that Gasly was able to avoid.

Racing Bulls, though, are arguably the biggest winner.

After initially seeing his fifth place finish demoted to sixth, Lawson was one of four drivers whose result was impacted by Gasly’s initial appeal – a result which has now been restored, and given the Kiwi his best result of the season.

That increases Lawson’s points tally from 49 to 51, at the same time Gasly’s decreases from 44 to 35, in the battle to finish ninth in the drivers championship – the best-placed outside the sport’s top four teams.

Teammate Arvid Lindblad, meanwhile, also moves up one place from seventh to sixth, as Racing Bulls move 14 points clear of Alpine in the fight for fifth in the all-important constructors championship.

Racing Bulls and Alpine both have the chance to boost their hopes of finishing fifth in the constructors this weekend, with Formula One’s Italian Grand Prix held at Monza.

Lawson, though, will not be able to contribute, after his promotion to Red Bull to deputise for an injured Hadjar.
