Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad – 6

Shifted out to the wing and claimed a brace, bringing his total to seven tries in four starts there this season.

Didn’t get many other chances with the ball in hand, while his edge was also caught up a few times, which allowed the Sea Eagles to strike from distance.

2. Adam Pompey – 6

Scored a nice try but there were a couple of moments where he should have considered passing instead of trying to be the hero.

3. Ali Leiataua – 5

Probably highlighted how important he is to the team with the Sea Eagles capitalising on his absence by scoring a couple of tries to get back into the contest.

Overall though, not his best night.

5. Alofiana Khan-Pereira – 4

Has hit a bit of a form slump in recent weeks and hasn’t been able to get into the action with the ball. Really struggled defensively, being credited with four missed tackles and two ineffective tackles. However, he came up with a crucial late intercept that led to the Warriors kicking the game-winning field goal.

6. Chanel Harris-Tavita – 6

Was steady in his first game back. Did his role well and kicked the winning field goal. Has really flown under the radar as the glue of the Warriors’ backline. Will be better for the hit-out before the finals.

7. Te Maire Martin – 7

Controlled the game well from halfback, claiming three try assists. The Warriors look more potent in attack when he runs the ball, which he did to good effect, finishing with 117m from 17 carries.

8. James Fisher-Harris – 6

Had a big first stint on the field, going on to finish with 133m. The two penalties he gave away were a slight concern, but he had a well-earned break at the end of the game before the finals. Brought plenty of intensity, and it will be interesting to see how he lifts for the finals given his championship pedigree.

9. Sam Healey – 6

Making his fourth career start, he looked threatening from dummy-half whenever he got the chance to run. Definitely one for the future, but the difference in the flow of the Warriors’ attack is noticeable with Wayde Egan on the field.

10. Mitch Barnett – 7

Continued his strong late-season run of form, finishing with 136m and 17 tackles.

11. Eddie Ieremia-Toeava – 5

A bit of a mixed bag in his first career start. Had some nice carries, although he did have a few tumbles with the ball. Not entirely his fault, but he was forced to cover centre when Leiataua went off – and the Sea Eagles made him pay.

12. Jacob Laban – 7

Has really grown in his first season as a regular starter and is very powerful with the ball close to the line. His offload has also been a great feature and even led to one of Tuaupiki’s tries. Finished as the Warriors’ top tackler with 22, although he did have five missed tackles.

13. Erin Clark – 9

Another excellent game, and the Warriors look better when he’s on the field. The Sea Eagles struggled to contain him, as he was a constant threat close to the line. Finished with a team-high 152m and 10 tackle breaks.

Interchange:

14. Makaia Tafua – 5

Plenty of positives in his third NRL appearance on both sides of the ball. Definitely one for the future.

15. Tanner Stowers-Smith – 6

Was very impressive late in the game and was bumping out of tackles for fun. Was denied a career-first try for the second time in two weeks but did have 119m off the bench.

16. Demitric Vaimauga – 6

Love his impact off the bench. Strong carries and brings a point of difference. Was placed on report for a dangerous tackle.

17. Morgan Gannon – 6

Was great to see him get some minutes under the belt in what is his third NRL appearance. Definitely showed why the Warriors were interested in him. Impressed with his footwork as he finished with 126m.

Interchange players not used: Jett Cleary, Jye Linnane

Ben Francis is an Auckland-based reporter for the New Zealand Herald who covers breaking sports news.

1.
