For more than a decade,\u00a0Wright 1 Care Inc<\/a>. has been helping Manitobans receive the care and\u00a0support they need while\u00a0remaining\u00a0in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Now, the\u00a0Winnipeg-based private home care provider is bringing its services to the southeast Manitoba\u00a0community of Steinbach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beginning October 1, 2026, Wright 1 Care will open a new location inside\u00a0Clearspring\u00a0Medical\u00a0Centre<\/a>,\u00a0located\u00a0next to Winners at\u00a0Clearspring\u00a0Mall in Steinbach. The new location will\u00a0provide local families with access to a range of private home care,\u00a0nursing\u00a0and support services.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For co-owners\u00a0Sylvia Wright and Chris Kilpatrick, the expansion\u00a0represents\u00a0more than a new\u00a0business location. It is an opportunity to bring a model of care they have spent years building to a\u00a0community they have grown to love.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A business built from a passion for care\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sylvia Wright has worked in home care since 2012. Early in her career, one of her first clients\u00a0was a man living with dementia whom she cared for twice a day for three years. The relationship\u00a0she developed with him and his family led to more requests for her services, eventually reaching\u00a0a point where she realized there was an opportunity to build a larger organization that could\u00a0provide the same level of personalized care to more people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That vision became Wright 1 Care Inc.,\u00a0established\u00a0in 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Today, the company provides private home care and nursing services to individuals and families,\u00a0as well as clients in assisted living and personal care homes,\u00a0hospitals\u00a0and other settings. The\u00a0company has grown to more than 100 employees serving clients throughout Winnipeg.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The philosophy behind Wright 1 Care\u00a0remains\u00a0straightforward: care should be built around the\u00a0individual, with an emphasis on dignity, independence, respect,\u00a0compassion\u00a0and continuity of\u00a0care.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company describes its mission as\u00a0making \u201cour time\u00a0your time,\u201d\u00a0with the goal of\u00a0providing comfort,\u00a0safety\u00a0and peace of mind to clients and their families.\u00a0Experience that goes beyond the workplace\u00a0both Wright and Kilpatrick bring personal experience with caregiving to their work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kilpatrick became a primary caregiver for his parents, including his mother who lived with\u00a0dementia. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of the emotional,\u00a0financial\u00a0and\u00a0practical challenges families can face when a loved one requires ongoing care.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His connection to caregiving also has roots in his family. Inspired by his mother\u2019s volunteer\u00a0work and his sister\u2019s involvement with the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities, Kilpatrick\u00a0eventually left his career as a machinist to dedicate himself to community service and caregiving.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He volunteered with the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities and later spent years using his\u00a0machining skills to repair wheelchairs while travelling to communities throughout Northern\u00a0Manitoba.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wright also experienced caregiving within her own family, caring for her husband at home while\u00a0continuing to\u00a0operate\u00a0her business. Through those experiences, both owners have seen firsthand\u00a0what families go through when someone they love needs\u00a0additional\u00a0support.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Those experiences have shaped the way they approach their work today.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That understanding is at the heart of Wright 1 Care approach: providing professional services\u00a0while recognizing that every client and every family have\u00a0different needs.\u00a0Comprehensive care, available 24\/7\u00a0Wright 1 Care\u00a0provides\u00a0a range of services designed to support people with\u00a0different levels\u00a0of\u00a0care needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Its team includes\u00a0Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses,\u00a0who can provide skilled\u00a0nursing support, including senior care and palliative care in the home or hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Health Care Aides\u00a0can\u00a0assist\u00a0clients with personal care and activities of daily living, as well as\u00a0meal preparation, laundry, light\u00a0housekeeping\u00a0and medication reminders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Home Support Workers\u00a0can help with household tasks such as light housekeeping, meal\u00a0preparation, laundry,\u00a0shopping\u00a0and errands, as well as accompanying clients to appointments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company also provides\u00a0companionship services, whether someone needs company at\u00a0home, in hospital, while travelling, at the cottage or while attending a special event.\u00a0Companions\u00a0can also\u00a0assist\u00a0with activities such as preparing snacks, reading,\u00a0puzzles\u00a0and medication\u00a0reminders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The services are available 24\/7, giving families greater flexibility when arranging care for a\u00a0loved one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bringing Wright 1 Care to Steinbach\u00a0<\/p>\n

The decision to expand into Steinbach comes from both a business opportunity and a strong\u00a0connection to the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0Wright and Kilpatrick have developed a deep\u00a0appreciation for Steinbach and the people who live there. For them, the community has\u00a0a strong\u00a0sense\u00a0of connection and care that aligns closely with the values of Wright 1 Care.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new Steinbach location inside\u00a0Clearspring\u00a0Medical Centre\u00a0will make it easier for individuals\u00a0and families in the southeast region to learn about and access private home care services close to\u00a0home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company has already begun building its presence in the community, including recruiting\u00a0home support workers and health care aides, in Steinbach.\u00a0<\/p>\n
