Hollywood A-list icon Tom Cruise is ready to literally ‘dig deep’ for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Digger, and with the release of its all-new trailer, complete mania is promised!

Here’s the official synopsis:

The most powerful man in the world, Digger Rockwell (Tom Cruise) embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.

Ever since the first trailer arrived for Digger, filmgoers have been going bonkers over Tom Cruise’s immense about-face turn as Digger Rockwell, and it’s a performance where he appears to have completely let himself go and dived headfirst into this crazy character, and could very well end up being his most dynamic and exciting performance since his turn as Frank T.J. Mackey in 1999’s Magnolia.

Cruise, when combined with the acidic, sharp wit of Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s piercing satire of power, politics and climate change, makes for something utterly crazy in every sense of the word, and this film, which is coming to IMAX, will really shake up audiences with its almost Dante’s Inferno tale of modern-day excess and a complete lack of accountability on behalf of its principal players.

And let’s not forget to highlight the incredible cinematography of Emmanuel Lubezki, who has captured this film on 35mm film using a VistaVision set-up, equipped with Leitz Cine ELSIE lenses, and with this set-up and tone, you have a film in Digger that is just screaming to be seen up on the big screen.

Ready yourself for a man, a plan and one bloody massive big meltdown (quite literally) when Digger hits cinemas on October 1.
