{"id":595886,"date":"2026-09-10T09:00:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T09:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/595886\/"},"modified":"2026-09-10T09:00:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T09:00:21","slug":"man-charged-after-blaze-at-cafe-next-to-nzs-oldest-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/595886\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged after blaze at caf\u00e9 next to NZ&#8217;s oldest building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been charged following a fire at a Kerikeri cafe located just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1news.co.nz\/2026\/09\/05\/blaze-at-cafe-next-to-nzs-oldest-building-suspicious-fenz-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">metres away from New Zealand&#8217;s oldest surviving building<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency services were called to a report of fire at a caf\u00e9 on Kerikeri Rd, next to the historic Stone Store and Pioneer House, on September 4.<\/p>\n<p>The Stone Store, built between 1832 and 1836, is the country&#8217;s oldest undamaged stone building.
