A vape store in Lower Hutt has allegedly been robbed just two days after opening.<\/p>\n
The shop on Taita Dr in Avalon was broken into by three people around 2.30am on Thursday.<\/p>\n
CCTV footage showed display cases being smashed as stock was taken from the shelves.<\/p>\n
“We were still stocking the shelves. We hadn\u2019t even fully opened and settled into the business yet,” Dennis Desai said today on social media. <\/p>\n
“We have worked extremely hard to open this store and bring something new to the local community. To see it damaged and robbed almost immediately is heart-breaking.”<\/p>\n

The store’s owner vowed to “rebuild” and “come back stronger” as he called on anyone with information to contact police. <\/p>\n
“Thank you to everyone in our local community who has supported us, especially those who have reached out after hearing what happened.<\/p>\n
“Two days open. Robbed on day two. But we\u2019re not giving up.”<\/p>\n
In a statement, a police spokesperson confirmed officers were “making enquiries” after a commercial premises on Taita Dr reported being burgled around 2.30am.<\/p>\n
