Those figures come from Apple\u2019s press materials and specs page, not from a full environmental report. For iPhone 18 Pro, Apple has separately published a per-model carbon footprint in a Product Environmental Report PDF, a figure that does not appear on any iPhone product page. No equivalent Apple Watch Series 12 figure appears in Apple\u2019s press release, marketing page or tech specs, which makes the gap between the two products worth stating plainly rather than guessing at a number. Apple has been willing to publish that iPhone number even though it is not flattering at higher storage tiers, so its absence for Series 12 is a gap in what is available, not evidence of what the number would be.<\/p>\n

The 100 percent recycled figure is attached to the aluminum and titanium listings on Apple\u2019s page. Apple\u2019s materials table does not carry a separate recycled-content percentage for the ceramic case, so a reader comparing case materials on sustainability grounds has two figures to compare, not three. The same gap applies to Apple Watch Herm\u00e8s Series 12, which Apple describes by finish and band rather than by a separate recycled-content figure of its own.<\/p>\n

Apple Watch Ultra 4<\/a>, built in a single titanium case rather than three materials, carries a higher overall recycled-material figure than Series 12, 45 percent against 40 percent, even though Ultra 4 does not offer an aluminum or ceramic option. Apple\u2019s press release does not explain why a single-material product reports a higher blended figure than a three-material one, only that the two figures are what each release states. The battery figures are the one place the two watches match exactly: both Series 12 and Ultra 4 report 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery, and Series 12\u2019s release additionally states 95 percent recycled lithium, a figure Apple\u2019s Ultra 4 material does not repeat.<\/p>\n

Why the carbon figure matters as a gap, not a guess<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s iPhone 18 Pro Product Environmental Report states a carbon footprint in kilograms of CO2 equivalent that rises with storage capacity, a document Apple publishes as a PDF rather than on the phone\u2019s main product page. No such figure for Apple Watch Series 12 appears in the press release, the marketing page or the tech specs used for this article. Rather than estimate a number Apple has not stated for this watch, the honest position is that the figure is currently absent from the sources available, and this article will not guess at one.<\/p>\n
