After a final edition in Sydney in 2025, the Race Of Champions sets its sights on New Zealand at the beginning of 2027. <\/p>\n

A well-established fixture in the motorsport world, the Race of Champions will return next year with an event in Wellington, New Zealand, on January 9th and 10th. The competition will follow its usual format, featuring one-on-one duels in the Henry Stadium. This will be the first time the Race of Champions has been held in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to be bringing the Race of Champions to Wellington and New Zealand for the first time. It\u2019s one of the most beautiful places in the world, with a real passion for motorsport and so many talented drivers ,\u201d explains Fredrik Johnsson, co-creator of the Race of Champions. \u201cIt will be fascinating to see New Zealand stars take on some of the biggest international names in F1<\/a> , the World Rally Championship, and other disciplines, in front of their home crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first four drivers taking part in the competition have been revealed, including regular Sebastian Vettel<\/a> , four-time Formula 1 world champion and winner of the 2015 edition. Valtteri Bottas<\/a> , currently in F1 with Cadillac, will also be there, as will local star Hayden Paddon (two-time European Rally Champion) and Australian Chaz Mostert, reigning Australian Supercars champion.<\/p>\n

As with every edition, the duels will aim to determine who is the “Champion of Champions” at the end of the event. A Nations Race will take place on the first day, before the individual event to conclude the competition.<\/p>\n
