The hulking Warriors back-rower put a shot on Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga in the eighth minute which folded the superstar.

Ponga was looking to come up with an attacking raid from inside his own half when he copped a whack by Leiataua that put him on his backside.

The replays showed the Warriors forward didn’t attempt to wrap his arms around the Knights skipper and looked to put on a shoulder charge.

“He rocks him, bang with the left shoulder,” Fox League’s Michael Ennis said.

“Gee, there might be a little more in this. This might be a sin-bin. There was no real wrapping motion. Gee, only on report.”

There was contact with Ponga’s head and the ball, but it was only judged to be a penalty.

“I know where you’re going with that one. At another time, if that’s a sin-bin, you’re probably not going to be outraged,” commentator Andrew Voss said.

“There was not much technique in the tackle from Ali Leiataua.”

Ennis felt he was “very lucky to remain on the field”.
