We all have a role to play to prevent human-wildlife conflicts,” the BCCOS statement read, which noted fallen fruit, specifically apples, are a common seasonal attractant for bears.

Additional information to prevent human-wildlife conflicts are available at WildSafeBC.com.

Any wildlife conflicts can be reported to the BCOSS via the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.

Subscribe to our daily news wrap. Local news delivered to your email inbox every evening. Stay up-to-date on everything Nanaimo and Oceanside.

info@nanaimonewsnow.com

Follow us on: Twitter (X) | Bluesky | Facebook

The City of Nanaimo reported on Monday, Sept. 21, that a bear had been spotted at Colliery Dam…

[26
251,25012,25006,25013,25005,25007,25008,111,43,139,69,25009,25010,25011,147,213,406
post-608239","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-wildlife","tag-breaking-news","tag-central-vancouver-island","tag-nanaimo","tag-nanaimo-breaking-news","tag-nanaimo-news","tag-nanaimo-news-now","tag-nanaimonewsnow","tag-new-zealand","tag-news","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-oceanside","tag-parksville","tag-qualicum","tag-science","tag-sports","tag-wildlife
["GET
