{"id":608977,"date":"2026-09-23T07:16:20","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T07:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/608977\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T07:16:20","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T07:16:20","slug":"nova-entertainment-and-mediaworks-announce-new-audio-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/608977\/","title":{"rendered":"NOVA Entertainment and MediaWorks announce new audio partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                    <img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot-6817.png\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOVA Entertainment has today announced a new partnership with leading New Zealand media company MediaWorks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement will give Australian listeners access to some of New Zealand\u2019s biggest radio brands through NOVA\u2019s digital audio platforms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also expands NOVA\u2019s streaming offer with a broader mix of music formats and gives MediaWorks\u2019 brands a new pathway to Australian audiences, including Kiwis living across the Tasman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eight MediaWorks stations are available to stream through NOVA\u2019s Player apps: The Rock, Channel X, George FM, Magic, Mai FM, More FM, The Edge, and The Sound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leading the announcement is The Rock, one of New Zealand\u2019s most distinctive radio brands and the country\u2019s #1 station for audiences aged 25-54.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available nationally on all streaming platforms including the Nova and Smooth Player apps, The Rock can also be heard on DAB+ in Brisbane and Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOVA Entertainment\u2019s Chief Growth Officer Adam Johnson said \u201cMediaWorks brings a brilliant portfolio of distinctive brands with deeply engaged audiences, so we\u2019re delighted to be able to bring them to even more listeners in Australia on our own platforms and on DAB+.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur early data suggests there is a huge appetite for New Zealand content, with The Rock 2000 Countdown currently leading the charge. This partnership adds to the already stellar partner line-up we\u2019re proud to deliver on NOVA\u2019s streaming network, joining brands such as News24, FoxSports News and talkSPORT from the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MediaWorks\u2019 Director of Content Leon Wratt said \u201cThere has always been a huge appetite for our stable of radio brands, particularly given the number of New Zealanders living in Australia. With this partnership, we\u2019re solidifying our commitment to giving Australian audiences access to a range of our stations, all easily accessible across NOVA\u2019s platforms including the Nova Player.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement launches in conjunction with The Rock 2000 annual countdown, which celebrates the greatest rock songs of all time and culminates in The Rock 2000 Live in Auckland on September 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eight-hour live concert countdown, streamed across The Rock, will feature performances from leading rock acts including Australia\u2019s own The Living End and reveal the Top 20 greatest rock songs live on stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"NOVA Entertainment has today announced a new partnership with leading New Zealand media company MediaWorks.
