A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder as part of an ongoing homicide investigation launched in Auckland’s Blockhouse Bay last month.<\/p>\n

21-year-old Star Sami was critically wounded in a “violent confrontation” on Holbrook St, near the Shoreham St intersection, on August 22. <\/p>\n

He later died from his injuries<\/a> in hospital, and Operation Falconer was launched. <\/p>\n

Auckland City CIB Acting Detective Inspector Craig Bolton said simultaneous search warrants were conducted in Avondale and Massey this morning, and a man was arrested in Massey. <\/p>\n

\u201cA 23-year-old man was brought back to the Mount Roskill Police Station for interview, and he has since been charged with murder,” he said.<\/p>\n

The man was expected to appear in the Auckland District Court this afternoon.<\/p>\n

“While we are not seeking anyone else in relation to Mr Sami\u2019s death, this is still an ongoing investigation and we are still speaking with a large number of witnesses to the violent altercation that occurred that Saturday afternoon,” Bolton said. <\/p>\n

Police acknowledged those who had provided information to date. <\/p>\n

“The Operation Falconer team has been working hard on progressing the homicide investigation over the past month, and it\u2019s a great outcome to have got to the point in laying a murder charge.”<\/p>\n
