An Auckland man has been charged with 11 counts of obtaining by deception after allegedly using his employer’s internal systems to take $2 million worth of goods over eight years.<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old is due to reappear in the North Shore District Court on October 15.<\/p>\n
Police began investigating in 2025 after it was alleged that an employee had misused the company’s internal systems to dishonestly obtain goods. The alleged offending spanned from 2017 to 2025.<\/p>\n
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant James Kim said the charges followed nearly a year of work by investigators.<\/p>\n
“The investigation involved extensive analysis of company records and evidential material,” he said.<\/p>\n
“This offender caused significant financial loss to the organisation over several years, and police have worked diligently to ensure he is held to account.”<\/p>\n
Kim thanked the company for its help during the investigation.<\/p>\n
