In a statement, a WOW spokesperson told 1News a member of the World of WearableArt (WOW) crew “suffered a medical event while at TSB Arena and has sadly passed away”.

“They were a beloved and valued member of the WOW whānau, and our thoughts are with their family, friends and everyone in the wider WOW team. We are providing additional support for our WOW cast and crew.

“Given the impact of this tragic event on our team and the show, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s 7.30pm Friday 25 September performance of the 2026 WOW Show: GLO!.”

The spokesperson said WOW “appreciate everyone’s understanding and ask that the privacy of the crew member’s family and our wider WOW whānau is respected at this time”.
