{"id":611506,"date":"2026-09-25T16:00:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T16:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/611506\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T16:00:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T16:00:09","slug":"ai-leaders-attend-trump-xi-state-dinner-as-zuckerberg-rejects-coordinated-ai-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/611506\/","title":{"rendered":"AI leaders attend Trump-Xi state dinner as Zuckerberg rejects coordinated AI safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jason Calacanis, an angel investor and Dotcom era startup founder, put out a cryptic social media post advising SpaceX and Meta to release &#8220;an iPhone competitor with no apps \u2014 just agents and optimized for local AI and privacy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His post on X included a screenshot of an iPhone dock showing just two apps: xAI&#8217;s Grok Bot and Meta&#8217;s Muse, two advanced AI agent systems designed to automate complex work tasks.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not entirely clear what Calacanis is envisioning, but Meta has already waded into introducing hardware paired with its AI software.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Meta CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/mark-zuckerberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mark Zuckerberg<\/a> introduced the Muse Charm, a pocket-watch-sized device that would have the Muse AI agent system included.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack, into something that fits on a keychain and is always available to talk to,&#8221; Zuckerberg said at this year&#8217;s Meta Connect event.<\/p>\n<p>If the gadget were to catch on, users would not need to access Muse via a smartphone from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/tech\/companies\/apple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Apple<\/a> or Google, potentially cutting into those companies&#8217; profit margins.
