Skims

Kim Kardashian’s global shapewear brand Skims will be recognised by many.

Skims offers technically constructed underwear, shapewear, loungewear and swimwear, and has become one of the largest brands of its kind globally.

The brand was co-founded in 2019 by Kardashian and Jens Grede, also chief executive, and has been valued at US$5 billion ($8.8b).

Skims, co-founded by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede in 2019, will be available for the first time in New Zealand at the new Faradays department store.

Von Dadelszen said Skims was a brand the world already loves, but New Zealand has never had access to.

“Skims does that perfectly. It is one of the most culturally relevant brands in the world right now, and the fact that it is also genuinely accessible and the sizing is inclusive makes it exactly the kind of brand we want to champion from day one.

“Skims is a strong example of a brand that understands the value of physical retail, and how important it is to connect with customers in a real-world environment.”

The first Skims release at Faradays will be priced from $35, with NikeSkims, a collaboration with sports brand Nike, also available in spring.

2. The fashion house also sells shoes, including its signature split-toe Tabi, which debuted in 1988.

The brand launched a contemporary, more casual clothing line called MM6 in 1997, which focused on gender-neutral everyday wear. It serves as a more accessible, lower-priced alternative to the high-end main collection.

Prices online at Maison Margiela range from high luxury for its mainline products to accessible contemporary for its MM6 line, from over $150 for socks to more than $10,000 for some jackets and coats.

5.
