While the world continues to patiently await an announcement about this \u201cBatman\u201d character that allegedly exists in Warner Bros.\u2019 rebooted DC Universe, The Wrap<\/a> reports that DC Studios\u2019 next Gotham City-set feature, Dynamic Duo, has cast its two Robins. Mason Thames (The Black Phone) and Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) will voice Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, respectively, in the animated feature from unionized animation studio<\/a> Swaybox Studios. (Check out what Swaybox has been getting up to<\/a>; they use something called \u201cMomo animation,\u201d or \u201cMotion on Motion,\u201d<\/a> which blends CGI, practical stop-motion, and live-action performance capture, which sounds bananas.) Swaybox co-founder Arthur Mintz is directing, while Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Matt Reeves\u2019 6th and Idaho, and DC Studios co-produce. The film is expected to swing into theaters like a fearless circus orphan and\/or future maniac vigilante on September 22, 2028.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite Reeves\u2019 involvement with the film, Dynamic Duo is reportedly not set in the universe of the director\u2019s The Batman franchise, which will surely bum out folks still clinging to the vain hope that they\u2019ll one day see Robert Pattinson and David Corenswet reenact the Batman-Superman cafe chats<\/a> of How It Should Have Ended. The Wrap says that Duo will \u201cdivert from the comics canon\u201d by depicting Dick Grayson and Jason Todd\u2014the Robins who grow up to be vigilantes Nightwing and Red Hood\u2014as \u201corphans and childhood friends who are pulled apart by destiny.
