Wasn\u2019t even the \u201cdozens\u201d we heard about the other day from OpenAI.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually (at least) *tens of thousands*, per a new scoop from Madison Mills at Axios<\/a>. And not just OpenAI, either.<\/p>\n

Why I don\u2019t know. I can\u2019t imagine it has anything to do with Josh Kushner\u2019s multibillion-dollar investment in OpenAI, or with Greg Brockman\u2019s massive donations to MAGA.<\/p>\n

Until last week, when I went to Black Hat Las Vegas, I had no earthly idea how serious the problems were. There, I got to know Nathan Hami\u2026<\/p>\n

The big news in AI over the last week is OpenClaw (formerly known as Moltbot and before that OpenClaw, changing names thrice in a week) \u2014 a cascade of LLM agents that has become wildly popular \u2014 and Moltbook, a social network for AI agents, built on top. Theoretically (I will get to that) Moltbook \u201crestricts posting and interaction privileges to verifie\u2026<\/p>\n

But the companies blundered on, because agents use vastly more tokens than simple chatbots, and thus drive up revenue. <\/p>\n

I still think Jensen had the right idea: if a company can\u2019t control its products, we should shut it down<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Pity he doesn\u2019t actually appear to believe what he said. (If he did, he would call for a pause now, until these companies get themselves straight, but he isn\u2019t.) <\/p>\n

In my own view, Huang\u2019s credibility is diminishing by the minute.<\/p>\n

In any case\u2014and I am sorry to be a broken record about this, but each day makes it clearer\u2014we should have a temporary recall of general-purpose agents until this mess can be sorted out. <\/p>\n
