Princess Catherine and Prince William<\/a> follow some unusual rules as senior royals but there\u2019s one that has been called \u201ctotally shocking\u201d. When travelling, there are a number of protocols in place to ensure the safety of the royals.<\/p>\n

A former British Airways<\/a> flight attendant and ex-Love Island contestant, Helena Ford<\/a>, has revealed on the Private Parts podcast that the Prince<\/a> and Princess of Wales<\/a> aren’t allowed to fly in the \u201chighest cabin\u201d available. Speaking to Hello! Magazine, she said: \u201cI think there is a thing in place where they can’t fly in the highest cabin, so if there’s a first class, they have to sit in business, and if there isn’t a first class, they have to sit in Traveller Plus.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that on a flight she worked on, William<\/a> and Catherine were seated in business class.<\/p>\n

Discussing how security works for the royals when they are travelling on commercial flights, she said: \u201cWhen we had Will and Kate, it was in Business because we had First\u2014but the whole of Business was security dressed as normal people, so you wouldn’t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Royal Observer<\/a>, British Airways is the first choice for the royals when it comes to travelling.<\/p>\n

Ford went on to add that she didn\u2019t know why the royals could not sit in the highest cabin.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the flight arrangements for well-known figures further, she added: \u201cSo I’ve had Boris Johnson<\/a> on a flight in Traveller Plus before. They can’t sit in the highest cabin.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also said \u201cthey all have fake names,\u201d when they are flying in this way.<\/p>\n

There are also apparently rules in place to ensure that senior royals travel separately, in case anything unfortunate happens while they are on their journey.<\/p>\n

However, Wales family<\/a> have been travelling together in recent years because it isn’t economical or cost-effective to use two aircraft every time they travel.<\/p>\n
