\u00a9Atsushi Nishigori, CloverWorks\/Project GTQ<\/p>\n

The Japan Society announced on Sunday that that it will host the U.S. premiere of Atsushi Nishigori<\/a>‘s original anime film Grotesqqque<\/a> (previously titled Grotesque) in collaboration with CloverWorks<\/a> and Aniplex of America<\/a> in New York City on October 8. Director Nishigori will give a pre-screening introduction in-person at the event.<\/p>\n

The film will open<\/a> in Japan on November 6. The film had its world premiere at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival<\/a>, which took place in Montreal from July 16-August 2.<\/p>\n

The film is an omnibus film of three stories with different worldviews:<\/p>\n

“A(E)liens”
\n“Yoroshiku\u2605Girl,” (also known as “4649 Girl,” pronounced as “Yoroshiku\u2605Sh\u014djo,” a pun on the words “Nice to Meet You\u2605Girl” with the literal meaning of the kanji being “Evening Dew Heads to Its Death\u2605Girl.” The numbers 4649 can be read in Japanese as “Yoroshiku.”)
\n“Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque” (“Nocturne: Kono Grotesque na Yoru ni,” literally, Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night, romanized in a previous video as “Nocturn: En Cette Nuit Grotesque.”)<\/p>\n

Atsushi Nishigori (The IDOLM@STER<\/a>, DARLING in the FRANXX<\/a>) is directing the film, and is also writing the screenplay and designing the characters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The band METALVERSE<\/a> performs<\/a> the opening theme song “Shoot Shoot Shoot.” Haoto<\/a> performs the ending theme song with lyrics by momosu momosu.<\/p>\n

The film comes from JOEN<\/a>, the company jointly established<\/a> by Sony<\/a> media subsidiary Aniplex<\/a>, its CloverWorks animation studio, Production I.G<\/a> sister company Wit Studio<\/a>, and publisher Shueisha<\/a>. CloverWorks producer Y\u016bichi Fukushima<\/a> and Wit Studio producer Tetsuya Nakatake<\/a> are the representative directors of JOEN.<\/p>\n
