Think Summer Spellman<\/a>\u2019s (Harriet Bibby<\/a>) was about to be happy on Coronation Street<\/a>? Think again. Her love life is a car crash \u2013 literally.<\/p>\n

Life on the Cobbles has not been very sunny for Summer.<\/p>\n

Not only was her adoptive father killed by the villainous Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), but she was powerless to stop her best friend\u00a0Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) from being domestically abused by the monster.<\/p>\n

Worse still, poor Summer-time found herself a prime suspect in Theo\u2019s murder<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The police had plenty of evidence against Summer. She was the last person to see Theo alive. Her diary was full of fantasies about holding the monster at gunpoint \u2013 and she was about to conveniently run off to America to study.<\/p>\n

However, the police caught up with her and hauled her in for questioning.<\/p>\n

With the outcome looking bleak,\u00a0Summer took drastic action<\/a>\u00a0to escape prison and gave up on treatment for her diabetes by turning off her insulin pump. This was a clear indicator to her loved ones that Summer had lost the will to live, fearing that she wouldn\u2019t survive prison. The ordeal even caused Summer to lose her belief in God<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Salvation came in the form of Tyrone Dobbs\u2019 (Alan Halsall), who came forward<\/a>\u00a0and confirmed Summer\u2019s alibi for the night of the murder, thus exonerating her completely.<\/p>\n

Since then, Summer\u2019s got her groove back and even has romance on the cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s had her head turned by newcome Marco, an aspiring tattoo artist. The pair even have their own adorable meet-cute \u2013 Marco stole Summer\u2019s drawing and displayed it in the window of his tattoo shop just so she\u2019d come by and see him again. Despite some reservations, Summer informed her besties Asha Alahan<\/a> (Tanisha Gorey<\/a>) and Amy Barlow<\/a> (Elle Mulvaney<\/a>), that she has agreed to go on a second date with Marco. This left viewers wondering if Marco\u2019s the man Summer has been waiting for, or if there\u2019s more to him than meets the eye.<\/p>\n

Spoiler \u2013 it\u2019s the second one. It\u2019s always the second one.<\/p>\n

In next week\u2019s trip to the Cobbles, the forecast for this Summer romance looks very bleak when Marco gets into a car crash\u2026 and a shock revelation comes to light.<\/p>\n

When Summer takes a call informing her that Marco\u2019s been involved in a car accident, she\u2019s devastated and rushes off to hospital.<\/p>\n

But as she hurries into A&E, PC Jess Heywood (Donnaleigh Bailey) is there waiting for her. Jess explains that approaches and explains that Marco was involved in a car crash\u2026 in which he was the getaway driver. <\/p>\n

Seems like Summer\u2019s love story has gone a bit Grand Theft Auto. How will she react?<\/p>\n
