{"id":618132,"date":"2026-10-02T05:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T05:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/618132\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T05:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T05:02:08","slug":"ciaran-hinds-reveals-details-about-his-mysterious-role-in-greta-gerwigs-narnia-narniaweb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/618132\/","title":{"rendered":"Ciar\u00e1n Hinds Reveals Details About His Mysterious Role in Greta Gerwig\u2019s Narnia &#8211; NarniaWeb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the red carpet for his new Netflix film East of Eden, Academy Award nominee Ciar\u00e1n Hinds spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldderby.com\/tv\/2026\/east-of-eden-florence-pugh-netflix-premiere-8-things\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Gold Derby<\/a> about his mysterious role in Greta Gerwig\u2019s adaptation of The Magician\u2019s Nephew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hinds explained that he plays a narrator and will only appear briefly in the film, saying audiences \u201cmay see me once or twice, but otherwise it\u2019s vocal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI can only tell you that because I play the role of a narrator and I\u2019m not very featured in it \u2026 [you] may see me once or twice, but otherwise it\u2019s vocal. It was just myself, the crew, and Greta Gerwig working together for one day is what I did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hinds also spoke warmly about working on Narnia: The Magician\u2019s Nephew, describing his single day on set as an enjoyable experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a wonderful day just to work with her and the crew and the brilliant photographer, Seamus McGarvey, who\u2019s from the same part of the world as I am, but he\u2019s rather brilliant\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Hinds was first announced as part of the cast in May 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narniaweb.com\/2026\/05\/netflix-reveals-10-confirmed-narnia-cast-members-including-ciaran-hinds\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"37181\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">we noted<\/a> the possibility that the Belfast-born actor could be playing an adult Professor Digory, with David McKenna portraying the character as a child. McKenna is also a Belfast native, as was C.S. Lewis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Netflix has not officially confirmed Hinds\u2019 character at this time.
