A batch of Tip Top Jelly Tip ice creams has been recalled because it may contain bacteria that can cause diarrhoea. <\/p>\n
The recalled products were sold in a six-pack with a best-before date of September 30, 2028. Woolworths supermarkets in the North Island sold them. <\/p>\n
New Zealand Food Safety said the ice cream may contain Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can cause severe gastrointestinal illness. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey should not be eaten. You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that\u2019s not possible, throw them out,\u201d NZFS deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle said. <\/p>\n
NZFS said it had not received any reports of illness. The products have been removed from store shelves and have not been exported. <\/p>\n
In milk or products containing it, the bacteria’s illness usually causes diarrhoea. <\/p>\n
Symptoms tend to appear one to six hours after eating contaminated food. Most people recover within 12 to 24 hours. <\/p>\n
