The scene examination was completed, and the property handed back to family on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the Papatoetoe house about 6.40pm last Thursday after reports a person was dead. Two more deceased were found inside.<\/p>\n

Police are not searching for anyone else. <\/p>\n

A Cambridge Terrace resident opposite the property said they saw a man lying dead on the home\u2019s front steps.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were having dinner and my daughter saw police cars go past, so I opened the door to look and saw him. Lots of us on this side of the road did.\u201d<\/p>\n

They told the Herald the man had two primary-aged children.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot even an hour prior I saw him, he was outside on the steps with his kids.\u201c<\/p>\n

They said nothing seemed unusual. <\/p>\n

A woman who lives next door to the property said she \u201creally got along\u201d with the man at the address.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just the man, his two kids and his father who live there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never heard anything bad, we keep in touch regularly and look after each other, we always tell each other what\u2019s happening on the street.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another neighbour told a Herald reporter they were badly shaken. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just bloody bawled my eyes out. I can\u2019t believe it. They\u2019re a good family,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

\u201cJust bloody hell. I just can\u2019t believe it. You see this on the news.<\/p>\n

\u201dI\u2019m just absolutely in shock.\u201d <\/p>\n

On Monday morning, community members gathered in a Cambridge Tce and Tavern Lane carpark for a prayer to remember the victims and pay respects to the family.<\/p>\n
