The search for missing Christchurch teenager Marley has now moved to a recovery phase after a helicopter search Monday morning did not locate him.<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old was last seen in the suburb of Scarborough on the afternoon of Friday, 26 September.<\/p>\n
Detective Senior Sergeant Jo Carolan said police are committed to returning Marley to his family.<\/p>\n
“A helicopter conducted shoreline searches today, but sadly did not locate Marley.”<\/p>\n
Police are considering further land-based searching near Taylors Mistake.<\/p>\n
“This is the news that no family wants to receive, and we are offering them ongoing support.”<\/p>\n

Marley was seen in the suburb of Opawa before his disappearance and his car was later found in Sumner.<\/p>\n
Police released CCTV footage which showed the teen wearing a light grey Adidas hoodie with white and black lettering, black shorts, black socks and burgundy Converse shoes.<\/p>\n
Police, Land Search and Rescue, Coastguard Sumner, Fire and Emergency, Surf Lifesaving New Zealand and volunteers had all been involved in the search effort with boats and drones also used.<\/p>\n
“If you see Marley, please call Police on 111, quoting the file number 250927\/3331,” Carolan said.<\/p>\n
